On the Implied Setting of Pre-Tasha's 5e, pt. 1: Much of the World is Untamed

I came into the TTRPG hobby with 2014 5e. Hm. OK, hold on, I came into the TTRPG hobby by making a game or two of my own based on a freeform version of the Fighting Fantasy engine with elements from Warhammer and Minecraft (yes, the post about this is still coming), and then a combination of rules hodgepodged from 3.5, 4e, 5e's starter set, and the homebrew D&D wiki, which I was playing at roughly the same time as another friend was introducing me to a slew of strange Forge-era games which myself and my associates were wholly unequipped to treat seriously.
